Have you ever wondered why Toblerones chocolate bar has this unique triangular shape? Well there are two versions of where this shape originated from: The first version says that Toblerone takes its shape from the famous mountain in Switzerland, the Matterhorn. People believe that Theodor Tobler, the creator of Toblerone, linked his new chocolate creation with the Swiss mountain tradition. The other version of the shape story comes from the many business trips of Tobler to Paris. He often visited the show at Folies Bergeres. The red and beige clad dance troupe formed a human pyramid at the end of their number. And may be Tobler took his inspiration from this scene to create his famous chocolate bar. Tobelrone Chocolate was born in 1908, when Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann (his cousin) developed this unique chocolate. Theodor took the chocolate recipe from his father Jean Tobler who had his own famous chocolate factory "Fabrique de Chocolat Berne, Tobler & Cie." So Happy 100 year Anniversary Toblerone!
