The first automatic washing machines, as expensive as a small car, were not very safe. Water spilt over the side and into the motor, causing many mishaps.
First Washing machines :
In 1782 H.Sidgier designed the first washing machine, consisting of a cage with wooden rods and a handle for turning.
In 1906 The first electric washing machine is manufactured and in 1937 the first automatic washing machine was introduced.
