لندن - وكالات: لن يضطر البريطانيون بعد اليوم إلى تحمل جيرانهم المزعجين أو البقاء في منازلهم المشيدة على السواحل والتي قد تدهمها الفيضانات في أية لحظة، وذلك بعدما صنع مصممون دنماركيون وأميركيون بيوتاً تمشى على قوائم هيدروليكة وتنتقل من مكان إلى آخر.
وذكرت صحيفة "الدايلى تلغراف" أن المنازل التي يبلغ ارتفاع الواحد فيها حوالي الثلاثة أمتار وتستخدم الرياح والطاقة الشمسية لتوليد الطاقة بإمكانها السير في المناطق الوعرة و ذات التضاريس بسهولة.
الجسر الدوار Rolling bridge والذي يقع في العاصمة البريطانية لندن، يعتبر من أغرب الجسور في العالم ، حيث صمم بطريقة ذكية وطريفة ، فلدى عبور الشخص على أرضية الجسر للوصول إلى الجهة المقابلة من النهر ، فان الجسر يتمدد وينثني أمامك بشكل أفقي ، وحال وصولك للجهة المقابلة ، فان الجسر يرجع الى مكانه من جديد كما في الصور المرفقة ، هذا التصميم الفريد والغير مسبوق جعلت مصممه thomas heatherwick يحصل على جائزة التصميم الخاصة بالمنشأة المعمارية .

Texas oilman T. Boone Pickens has placed an the largest ever order for wind turbines: he ordered 667 wind turbines from GE, each costing $3 million dollars, making the total order $2 billion. Pickens plans to develop the world's largest wind farm in the panhandle of Texas.
The $2 billion order is just one quarter of the total amount he plans to purchase. Once built, the wind farm would have the capacity to supply power to over 1,200,000 homes in North Texas. Each turbine will produce 1.5 megawatts of electricity.
At the beginning there were two canals:
Canal Forth and Clyde was built in 1777 between harbors Grangemouth and Falkirk connecting Glasgow with west cost of Scotland.
Canal Union between Falkirk and Edinburgh was finished in 1822.
Because of geographical difficulties, which created a difference of 79ft.in elevation, the two canals were connected by 11 locks.
In 1963, after 150 yrs of existence of this water way with 11 locks the construction of a huge water carousel started. This extraordinary idea was finished in 2002 and became a symbol of Scotland. This invention saves not only time but also energy.
This is the only rotational boat transporter in the world. It has two arms and each arm forms a kind of huge tub filled with water. Boats enter the tub, then the tub locks up and the huge arm starts rotating .
