If you have a bad day at work, be thankful.
Appreciate that you have a job.
Some people don't.
When you pay your bills, be thankful.
You can pay them.
If you see a gray hair, be thankful.
Think of the cancer patient in chemotherapy who only wishes for any hair.
When you find yourself waiting in line or the recipient of poor service, be thankful.
Think about the people who have no food to eat at all.
When you realize how much work it is to take care of a house, be thankful you have a house.
Think about those who only wish they had a house to take care of.
When you feel like complaining because you have to walk a long distance from your car, be thankful. Think of what it would be like not to be able to walk!
If you get irritated by other people's anger, apathy, ignorance, bitterness, or insecurities, be thankful. Things could be worse.
You could be one of them!
When you think everything in your world is terrible, and you want to give up, think of the people who have been told they only have a certain amount of time to live.
They don't want to give up.
Live life to its fullest.
Appreciate life.

A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself.
A real friend is someone who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
A true friend will see you through when others see that you are through.

Because I'm a man, when I lock my keys in the car I will fiddle with a wire clothes hanger and ignore your suggestions that we call a road service until long after hypothermia has set in.
Because I'm a man, when the car isn't running very well, I will pop the hood and stare at the engine as if I know what I'm looking at. If another man shows up, one of us will say to the other, "I used to be able to fix these things, but now with all these computers and everything, I wouldn't know where to start.
Because I'm a man, when I catch a cold I need someone to bring me soup and take care of me while I lie in bed and moan. You never get as sick as I do, so for you this isn't an issue.
Because I'm a man, I can be relied upon to purchase basic groceries at the store, like milk or bread. I cannot be expected to find exotic items like "Cumin" or "Tofu" or "Cardamom." For all I know these are all the same thing.
Because I'm a man, when one of our appliances stops working I will insist on taking it apart, despite evidence that this will just cost me twice as much once the repair person gets here and has to put it back together.
Because I'm a man, I must hold the television remote control in my hand while I watch TV. If the thing has been misplaced, I may miss a whole show looking for it (though one time I was able to survive by holding a calculator).
Because I'm a man, I don't think we're all that lost, and no, I don't think we should stop and ask someone. Why would you listen to a complete stranger -- I mean, how could he know where we're going?

Perhaps this is just typical kind of topic to many of us out there. But have you ever stopped and saw the amount of green in Bahrain? Almost non! with so much of money going to real estate investments, reclamation, and not to mention deserted lands, my eyes started to yearn for some sight of trees or even shrubs. Why is it that us, the young generation don't care? you know: the least we can do is plant a tree in our houses. If we can't control industrial development that has invaded our little brown country Bahrain, the least we can do is encourage others to care enough to sustain some of our traditional planting in the house: in all honesty, I still love the smell of the plant mashmoom, which thank God, we have in our house. Tomatoes: You say tomatoes, I say tomaatoos ;), why not plant them in the house? What am trying to say is: we may not have time to make a big fuss about Tree/environment day ( lets be honest here: not so many here are keen on caring: unless its something to do with a mega sale at Mango), the least we can do is do it ourselves in our own free time. You will be surprised the feeling you get out of adding more green in Bahrain right inside your little house.
