Howard Carter (an English archaeologist) discovered Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922  ,The walls of the room containing Tutankhamun's mummy had wonderful pictures telling the story of how  Tutankhamun's went to the world of the dead.

Tutankhamun was one of Egypt's famous Pharaoh not becuase of his achivements or what so ever, it's because of the discovery of his cemetery and treasures in full and without any damage. Also because of  the mystery surrounding the circumstances of his death and the marriage of his Minister to his widow after his death . As at those times death of Pharaoh at a very early age is not normal. Tutankhamun became a king when he was just 9 years old and died when he was only 19 years old.

fanoos1.jpgA lantern in Arabic is called Fanoos. It is similar to a lamp, except that it's lighted by a candle instead of oil. The story of using the Fanoos started in the era of Mamluks rule over Egypt and the Near East. Women then used to walk around with their lanterns to go to relatives in Ramadan to break their fast. Since then, the Fanoos has been used mostly in Ramadan, and it has also become the symbol for Ramadan. The Fanoos has developed greatly over the years, and now it comes in many shapes and sizes.
